Lions BYE Week

Good Day Clasmates,
We have some good news this week. The lions didnt lose a game this weekend, this is duie to the fact that they didnt play one. This was their bye week that each team in the NFL gets. 1 per 16 game regular season. So i thought id take this opportunity to give my thoughts about the team and the restructuring that i believe they should do. I'll start on the offensive side of the ball, directing my attention towards the offensive line. I think we are very week in this area though others dont. Our long time left tackle, Jeff Backus, is falling under the radar of good tackles. I think it would benefit us very much to either cut him from the team and let our new draft pick, Riley Reiff, have a shot at the job. Backus last week allowed 2 sacks that were direcly his fault. These came at critical times as the lions were trying to mount a comeback against the Minnesota Vikings. We have one outstnading guard in Rob Sims, but his opposite, Steven Peterman, has played attrocious the last 2 years and needs to be cut. If we were goinjg to utilize Backus anymore, i think it should be as a replacement for Peterman. Also, our long time center, Dominic Raiola, is god awful. He is a great leader and speaker, but can not lead by example anymore because he gets blown off the ball by these new monstrous defensive tackles. We need to draft a new center to lead and direct our offensive line to an elite status. Until then, we will always fall short of being considered a dominant offense. On the defensive side of the ball, it is blunty obvious that our secondary looks like that of a high school team. We have a decent safety in Louios Delmas, but he cant stay healthy throughout an entire season, so we pay him to be hurt and sit the bench. CUT! I think we could find a much better safety in free agency and probably save a lot of money that we are paying for Delmas to produce nothing. The only other real change id like to see on our defense is a better middle linebacker. Tulloch is an excellent player, but he is to small to be a dominant linebacker. He is not feared by any running back and will continue to be ran over always aloowing the running backs to get extra yards. These are just my thoughts on the restructuring i believe the lions need to tend too!

  1. Glad the Lions didn't lose because they didn't play! It was pretty disappointing the weekend that I went to the game and they lost, although you will be proud to know that I actually think I will enjoy football now!
